Minivan Sales Figures In America - September 2013 YTD

For Every Mazda 5 Sold In America In September,
Americans Registered 40 Grand Caravans & T&Cs

Not only did America's minivan market slide 14.7% in an abbreviated September 2013, the daily sales rate for minivans fell 7.3%, as well. 

The Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country - America's third and fourth-best-selling minivans through the first three quarters of 2013 - topped the sales leaderboard in September. Grand Caravan volume was down 19%; Town & Country sales rose 4%.

The Chrysler twins owned 52.6% of the minivan category's sales in September 2013. So far this year, their market share figure stands at 45.1%, down from 45.8% a year ago.

The Honda Odyssey continues as America's best-selling minivan nameplate, although it can't compete with the Chrysler duo. Odyssey sales fell 35% in September.

Only the YTD second-ranked Toyota Sienna and September's second-ranked Town & Country managed gains in a tough September.
