Audi selects Mexico for first N.A. assembly plant
Site to be picked later this year with startup slated for 2016

Volkswagen Group has settled on Mexico to build a new North American factory for its premium Audi brand. The Audi supervisory board today decided in favor of Mexico over a site next to its existing U.S. factory in Chattanooga, Tenn., which opened last year to build the VW Passat.
