One assumes that the discussions have to do with a tie-up with GM's Opel unit in Europe. With both Opel and PSA struggling, this seems like it would be an unlikely -- and unsuccessful -- alliance. Sure, many companies have joint ventures that involve engines, transmissions and even platform sharing. Sometimes those tie-ups don't end with the greatest results.
