BaT Exclusive: Sprint 5 Style 1969 Lotus Elan S4

This 1969 Lotus Elan S4 DHC (#45/9161) has been fully restored to Sprint 5 specifications, the Holy Grail of road-going Lotus Elans. Using genuine Lotus parts, it has been rebuilt from the new galvanized chassis up to be identical to the original Sprint and comes with the receipts to prove it. The car is equipped with a rebuilt Lotus 5-speed transmission like those in the eight Sprint 5s that came from the factory according to LotusElanSprint.com, and the same unit fitted to the Elan Plus 2 S130-5. The seller says that this gearbox elevates the car from the best-handling-sports-car-ever-made to the best-handling-sports-car-ever-made with GT legs. The restored in stages over a 20 year period by the third owner, and completed in 2004 following 300 hours of bodywork. The seller purchased it from him in December of that year with 900 km on the clock. It now reads 3,936 km. It is now available in Santa Clara, California for $29,950.

Mothballed Bargain: 1959 Triumph TR3A Racer

This 1959 Triumph TR3A was originally built as a vintage racer 21 years ago, at which time it underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration. It looks fantastic in photos but is said to have been off the road for some time and will need attention prior to being drivable again. It's sold with a large cache of spares and looks like it'd be a ton of fun on track or street. Find it here on Kijiji in Calgary, Canada for $12,500.
