Slight Canadian sales declines reported by the Ford F-Series, GMC Sierra, and Chevrolet Silverado were cancelled out in July 2013 by the Ram Pickup. Ram sales rose by 1373 units, or 21%. Toyota also sold 335 more Tacomas this July than in July 2012.
Trucks accounted for 17.3% of the Canadian auto industry's July 2013 volume, down from 17.5% in June, up from 17% in May, and down from 18.1% last July. Last month in the United States, year-over-year pickup truck volume rose 23% but trucks were responsible for just 14% of auto industry sales. Overall, sales in the U.S. market were 8.3 times higher than Canadian auto sales last month.
