Midsize SUV Sales Figures In America - July 2013 YTD

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Excluding the Ford Police Interceptor Utility, the Jeep Grand Cherokee outsold the Ford Explorer by 2277 units in July 2013.

U.S. sales of GM's Lambda platform trio - Enclave, Traverse, Acadia - totalled 20,143, a figure bested by the Grand Cherokee and its stablemate, the Dodge Durango, though only by eleven sales.

Honda, Nissan, and Toyota combined for 32,268 sales of their midsize crossovers: Pilot, Pathfinder, Highlander. Nissan also sold 3787 Muranos last month. A year ago, the Pathfinder was America's 40th-best-selling utility vehicle. Through seven months of 2013, the Pathfinder ranks 16th in U.S. SUV/CUV sales.

Year-to-date, the Pathfinder, Durango, Explorer, and Mazda CX-9 have reported the most significant year-over-year improvements of the crossovers and SUVs shown below.

On the flip side, excluding defunct nameplates like the Hyundai Veracruz, Jeep Liberty, and Mitsubishi Endeavor, the worst declines belong to Murano (undoubtedly harmed by the Pathfinder's success), Subaru Tribeca, and Ford Flex.
