Toyota leads sales gains as Detroit 3 point to stronger-than-forecast June
David Phillips
Toyota continued to recover from last year's earthquake with a 60 percent U.S. sales gain in June while the Detroit 3 said the month would turn out stronger for the industry than analysts had forecast. GM benefited from a 30 percent increase in crossover deliveries and rising fleet sales in recording its biggest gain in nine months -- 16 percent.
