2012 MARCH U.S. AUTO SALES Chrysler, VW, GM set March sales pace on small-car, truck volume Nissan North America rises 12.5%, Ford deliveries increase 5% David Phillips Automakers led by Chrysler, the VW brand and GM posted higher March sales today, with demand for smaller, fuel-efficient models, redesigned vehicles and pickups driving the gains. Chrysler said its U.S. sales rose 34 percent, its fifth straight month with an increase at least that high.
