Chevy combines global ad efforts in bid to create 'iconic' brand
Goodby, McCann to handle work under Commonwealth name

GM said two competing advertising holding companies -- Omnicom Group and Interpublic Group -- have formed an entity called Commonwealth to service global creative advertising duties for Chevrolet. The consolidation of the automaker's media-buying duties, made in January, combined with the expected savings from streamlining the Chevy creative work, will save $2 billion in marketing costs over five years, GM said.
