GM, despite record profits, creates political liabilities for Obama

DETROIT (Bloomberg) -- General Motors Co., saved by the Obama administration with a $50 billion bailout, is making more money than it has in its history, adding jobs and gaining market share.
It's still a headache for Barack Obama.

BMW designer Chapman joins Hyundai Motor America

Former BMW AG designer Christopher Chapman has been named chief designer for Hyundai Motor America, effective Jan. 3. He will lead new vehicle and concept design at the Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, Calif.

2012 Hyundai Sonata hybrid priced at $26,610

DETROIT -- Hyundai will price its 2012 Sonata hybrid at $26,610, including shipping charges, the company said. That's a $55 bump from the 2011 model.
