Major international auto theft ring

". . the group shipped the expensive vehicles, rented from national car rental chains in Michigan and Ohio, to Turkey and then Iraq through Montreal, Quebec. Many of the stolen vehicles crossed the border through Detroit or Port Huron.

. . agents developed information in July 2009 that the scheme was led by Adnan Hana, 57, of Sterling Heights, Michigan who rented the vehicles, drove them to Canada and then reported them stolen or carjacked in Detroit.

Five of the vehicles were discovered on shipping containers at the Port of Montreal by Canada Border Services. The vehicles had export documents with them that showed the export agent is Discount Auto Sales in Detroit, owned by Adnan Hana."
